The „VITUKI” Environmental Protection and Water Management Research Institute (VITUKI) and The Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) organise the XXVth Conference of the Danube Countries on Hydrological Forecasting and Hydrological Bases of Water Management under the auspices of the Mayor of the City of Budapest, Mr István Tarlós in the frame of the IHP UNESCO Regional Hydrological Cooperation of the Danube Countries as a event of the Hungarian National Committee for UNESCO International Hydrological Programme (IHP) and WMO Hydrology and Water Resources Programme (HWRP) in cooperation with many other international and professional initiatives, organisations and agencies. The Conference will be held at the premises of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, (Budapest) on June 16-17, 2011.


The first conference was organised half a century ago in 1961 in Budapest with keynote lectures in the field of hydrological forecasting by Professors Kalinin, Kresser, Lászlóffy and Szesztay.


Parallel organised seminars and symposia of the XXVth Conference will deal with traditional and newly arising topics of hydrology, water management, protection of the aquatic environment.
