Ultrasonic Doppler instrument Starflow 6526B and Valeport current meter
Starflow ultrasonic Doppler instrument enables the measurement of water depth, velocity and temperature. It measures flow velocity in water course main direction by detecting the frequency change of sent and received ultrasonic signals due to the reflection of in-stream moving particles and air bubbles in the water volume approximately 1 m in length aligned at 30 above horizontal. Instrument can record flow velocity in the interval between 0.021 and 4.5 m/s with an accuracy of ±2%, and with a resolution of data recording of 0.001 m/s. Valeport current meter measures flow velocity on the basis of conversion table which relates number of current meter rotor revolutions per time unit and water velocity. The instrument also consists of a sensor for pressure (water level). Instrument also measures water temperature. The instrument measures flow velocity at an interval from 0.05 to 5 m/s with an accuracy of ±2.5 % for velocity higher than 0.4 m/s, and with an accuracy of ±0.01 m/s for velocity lower than 0.4 m/s. |
